What are Fillers?

Dermal fillers, such as Juvederm, Restylane and Sculptra gently soften wrinkles, lines and can fill out hollows to create the smooth contours of younger skin - without surgery.

As your skin ages, it loses the collagen that helps to shape and support it. Dermal fillers replace this volume. Dermal fillers can reduce wrinkles around the eyes and mouth, create fuller lips and give your face a more supple, toned look.

The Restylane range features clear gel dermal fillers that smooth wrinkles, fine lines and folds and add natural-looking volume to your face.

Dermal fillers are popular treatments for wrinkles and facial lines. A dermal filler procedure helps to 'fill out' and smooth away troublesome:
  • Nose to Mouth Grooves
  • Forehead Lines
  • Frown Furrows
  • Lipstick Lines
  • Acne Pits
  • Crows Feet
Dermal fillers are also effective for increasing fullness to narrow lips, enhancing sunken cheeks and can even be used to contour the bridge of the nose.

Benefits

  • Dermal Filler treatments offer patients a wide range of benefits, including a more youthful appearance.
  • This treatment can be used to fill minor to moderate lines and wrinkles and is especially effective around the eyes, nose, and mouth.
  • When used as a lip enhancement product, it can lend volume and definition to lips, producing a sensual, more pronounced pout.
  • The treatment can be tailored to your needs providing a natural look.
  • The treatment is non-invasive with virtually no recovery time necessary; you can resume your normal activities immediately after treatment.
  • Not permanent and will naturally break down.
  • Technologically advanced man made fillers (such as Restylane ) are animal-free and they require no test prior to treatment, whereas approx 2-3% of people have an allergic reaction to collagen and as such we carry out a 28-day skin test, prior to any collagen treatment.

Consultation with our Doctor is strictly private and confidential

At your initial free consultation, the doctor will discuss your expectations for the treatment and try understand what results you are hoping to achieve. The doctor will make a medical assessment and explain how the treatment would help you and discuss the potential side effects. Generally Botox works well for lines and wrinkles in the upper face caused by facial expressions and muscle over activity such as in frown lines, forehead wrinkles and crow’s feet.

    Follow up Appointments for Restylane

After filler products are biodegradable, which means they will naturally disappear in the body. To ensure an optimal and long lasting result, a top-up treatment is recommended 6-12 months after your initial Restylane treatment. Discuss with your practitioner when a follow-up appointment may be appropriate. After a treatment some reactions might occur, these include; are slight redness, swelling, itching, bruising, pain and tenderness. The reactions are generally mild to moderate and usually disappear shortly after injection. They typically resolve spontaneously within one or two days, but for some treatments they may last longer.

We also offer Botox treatments. Read more about Botox HERE.
